Traveling alone : 5 reasons why traveling alone is good for your soul

Is traveling alone something you've always dreamt of doing, but never actually did it? Got that itch to travel and find your inner peace? But you still lack that tiny piece of confidence als security to take the plunge?

Traveling alone is great for your soul, because you're the only one you can rely on. You learn to be on your own and to take care of things yourself. We've collected some reasons why you should take that leap of faith and book your very first solo trip abroad.

1. Bye bye comfort zone

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

Don't let the fear of being alone stop you from stepping out of your comfort zone. Of course it’s nicer to have company to experience life with, to hold your hand with every step you take and to be sure that they are always behind you, no matter how scary the world is - but some things in life you have to experience alone and be your own best friend. The best way to get to know yourself is by traveling alone. ( You have the confidence to do this! )

2. Free like a bird

Once you have overcome the fear of being alone, you will realise that the world has nothing on you! You don't have to worry about how awkward you would look doing things on your own. You won't have to worry about the need for company. You will learn to understand the feeling of being alone and be more comfortable with it (that's not a bad thing at all, I promise you).

3. Oh damn, is that me?

In the end, you don't just gain experiences to add to your list of 'stories to tell'. Traveling alone also helps you discover parts of yourself that you were never aware of, because being out of your comfort zone forces you to do things you never thought you would do. In a way, a 'new you' is born and it makes you feel alive again.

4. Different nationalities

Traveling alone doesn’t mean you’ll always be alone or lonely. You will meet people from different parts of the world and will give you a taste of different mindsets, ways of thinking about life. It will also let you think more about the place you call home and how life is there compared to the life of your fellow travellers.

5. Do whatever you want

Snorkel, dive, or take a hot air balloon ride. Schedule language, cooking, or dance lessons. Hike, surf, skydive, or even run with the bulls. Think of things you always desired to accomplish, but had no one to do them with. This is your chance to do exactly what you want to do. You are the boss of your own life.

Traveling really does open a new world for you! I can only encourage you to pick up your self-confidence and go meet yourself and your inner peace! ( I promise you it’s worth it)
